Can you help me with coming up with manga character ideas?

I need help really badly. I’m thinking of making a manga but I can’t come up with any character ideas. I’m good at the story line and stuff, but it’s hard for me to think of whole new characters. Once I like an idea of one character, I repeat the traits when I create a new character. If its not confusing. Can you please give me some ideas on how I can improve or some tips to help me?
