Q&A: Top Ten +Anime+ Of All Time?

Question by : Top Ten +Anime+ Of All Time?
Okay I know for sure this has been posted up before, however, I still would like to know peoples opinions on certain series. So tell me you top 10 or 5 Anime series and why they are your favorites. I’ll do another one later for manga <3.

You can follow the way I do mine if you'd like~ And they don't have to be long like mines either~ Haha~

Note: If you pick Naruto, Bleach or any other series that is deemed typical, its gonna take A HELL OF A LOT to convince me to pick you for top choice for those wanting it~ Although that would be contradictory to what I said at first to me wanting to hear peoples opinions, I can’t stand typical shows I can easily pin point flaws from. Nevertheless, don’t be afraid of posting those series as your top ten, I can at least respect your opinion on the shows. However, I might disagree heavily if you insist on them being the very best in Anime history ;)

My Top Anime

5th- Sora no Iro, Mizu no Iro (9/10) – Lmao~ Not everyone would pick a Hentai as one of their top favorite. In fact, this might be the only H-anime that I have ever liked. BUT, only because the animation was stellar and it was made by one of my favorite artist in the world, Tony Taka~

4th- Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance (9/10) – It’s Evangelion… Nuff said.

3rd- Clannad After Story (10/10) – I kinda think this a typical show. But I love it. There isn’t much to say about this series since It’s pretty popular and well known. I guess I gotta just say that the complexity of the end of this series took me a couple of rewatches to get. Also this is one of the only few five Anime series I actually cry for~ Gotta say though, After Story is way better than its first season~

2nd- ef – a tale of memories (10/10) – “Put your wishes into the memories you do not want to forget…”

So sad that this masterpiece of masterpieces isn’t really recognized more than it already is (Which isn’t that much anyway). Other than being yet another of the fewest Anime I’ve rated a perfect 10, it is also one of five series that actually made me shed tears. Having several stories that intertwine somewhat together, creating such an emotional impact that really no other love, tragedy, and melancholy Anime could process such epic results that is ef. But what is MOST appealing about this series isn’t just its FANTASTIC soundtrack and its SUPERB plot and characters. It is actually the animation. SHAFT had really outdone themselves with this series because I don’t think I’ll ever see a series with animation better than ef unless its another SHAFT project~ It’s actually surprising it isn’t my 1st all time favorite. In fact… I don’t even know why it isn’t my all time favorite as I failed to find any flaws this Anime could have had. Guess I’m a sucker for my next top favorite Anime series, lol!

1st- Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch + R2 (10/10) – Yes, The Code Geass series as a whole comes down as my favorite series of all time. Other than it being surprisingly dramatic and emotional, this series topped it all with its complex back-story that made scream out “ALL HAIL LELOUCH” by its 22nd episode. Although there were many loopholes and flaws to this series, I easily overlooked them due to the fact that I was kept entertained throughout the entire series. Especially the second season with the endless cliffhanger endings it had. One of the few Anime I have rated a 10 out of 10.

~Honorable Mentions~

-Sora no Otoshimono (9/10)
-Seto no Hanayome (7/10)
-Mnemosyne: Mnemosyne no Musume-tachi (8/10)
-Kuroshitsuji (9/10)
-Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (10/10)
-Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu Ni! (9/10)

1st- Steins;Gate- It is full of emotions making you sad, happy, surprised, ect. The main characters are so lovable, unique and funny. It also gives you a mysterious feeling because the story is about time travel (John Titor). The ending makes you feel satisfied as well whereas the ending in most anime feel incomplete. The anime is also unpredictable, so it keeps you guessing.

2nd- Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood- This went over my head so I’ll just stick this in. Perfect anime. Action, suspense, plot, characters it has it all. Perfect story and great ending. By the end of the anime, nothing is left unanswered and followed the manga faithfully. It just feels SO complete.

3rd- Skip Beat- The main thing that makes this anime great is the comedy. It makes you laugh so much and I can say that it is the funniest anime that I watched. The main character used to be a plain girl, but then wants to be an actress for revenge on who say believed to be her boyfriend. She actually has the talent to be an actress despite that she looks plain normally.

4th- One Piece- Comedy, action, suspense. Oda makes the best of the anime. He planned the whole plot since the beginning and there are no plot holes yet. Oda will explain the things that aren’t covered yet later. Since Oda is writing such a large story, the beginning 50 or so episodes are just for setting the background and introduction, so the beginning is a bit slow. After reaching the Grand Line, the story will pick up. Oda foreshadowed elements such as Haki in the beginning episodes and used it like 500 eps later. He also developed each of the main characters and go into their past stories. The crew’s progress will make your blood boil and add suspense. The good things just goes on and on.

5th- One Outs- Using psychological tricks in baseball, make the story unique compared to the normal sports anime. The main character isn’t very skilled in baseball, but rely on tricks to excel as a pitcher in the big leagues. The opening song is catchy too.

6th-Monster- Much psychological theme to this anime. A boy grew up to be a killer, but the murders that he commit are so perfect that no one can trace who he is or if he even exist. He is compared to a monster or devil whose existence is vague. A doctor who saves this boy gets the blame for murders that this boy commit and sets off for an adventure to find the boy and stop the killing.

Q&A: Rising Conflict Comic vs. Manga!!!?

Question by Jase: Rising Conflict Comic vs. Manga!!!?
I am an avid Comic book reader (preferably DC/Batman/Detective Comics) I enjoy the stories I read, the Art I see and am in love with most of the Characters. I know that some of the Comics I have read don’t deliver great stories all the time… nothing is perfect. But I grew up reading comics. Not sure if comics are big with sales but one thing is certain it started in America in Early 1900′s and since then have spawned much media. Since I am a Batman fan I will use him as an example. His Character was so popular that they made a live action series after Batman in the 1960′s not the best show ever but the show was derived from a Comic. Then we enter late 80′s and Tim Burton kindly shares his take on the Batman which ended up being #1 box office hit of that year 1989. Batman is a dark character and was in unwise to make “Batman forever” and “Batman and Robin” kid friendly, although when Christopher Nolan came along He has brought the Caped Crusader back to life and in 2008 his film adapted from a Comic was the biggest yet making it top grossing film of that year. Consider just how Big 2012 will be when “Rises” hit’s theaters in July. But Enough about the Film I am here about the Comics My personal Fav. story of all is the Events leading up Batman R.I.P (if you do not know what I am talking about read Batman issues #655-#704 a lot to read I know but I guarantee you That Grant Morrison delivers a great story on the Character.) Then there’s the Beloved Batman year one. And there are other unforgettable titles in 93′ “Knightfall”, “The Long Holloween”, “That Dark knight Returns”, “Batman and the Monster Men” “Batman Hush” “The Killing Joke”… and those are just some titles I can think of the top of my head but there is plentiful more!!! Now with that being Said… I am not so sure why younger Generations have neglected to their American Heritage Most I see around is Kids reading what is known as Mange or Japanese Comics, THEY DON’T EVEN HAVE COLOR!!! (my opinion I guess) but Manga seems to deliver compelling stories that despite the color Kids like to read them very much. I have heard of Bleach and have heard of Death Note also Nararuto if that’s how it’s spelled?!? (correct me if I didn’t) Is that what has become of our youthful generation? Don’t get me wrong kids that read these books most likely to be Honor students, actually let me re-phrase that sorry… Anyone that reads stories are most like to succeed in life lol whether it be Manga or Comics or anything else. Mange has a greater range in Genre’s and I get that it has a broader Library. My very young Sister is 13 years old and she just simply loves Manga, I feel so sad that she is into that and am scared what will become of her if she keep reading that stuff. I have not been a good big brother because I already have a beautiful girlfriend that lives with me in my own home and every day I take care of her, we are waiting on a son in 5 month’s we already have name for him “Dennie”. but aside from personal life… since Manga is has a broader library I would say Manga is just a stepping stone to Hentai, Does Japanese culture think very little of woman? The frighting Drawings of Hentai are very shocking. Not sure what my Sister reads but I am going to speak to my Mom after this message and let her know to keep an eye on my sister. Growing up reading Batman, Spider-man, the Hulk, Flash, Superman and many other comics never have I seen an adult pornography comic in my local comic book store unless it was Hentai. None the less I believe Comics will be Superior than Manga Japanese Why… in my logic Comics have a grander History, They deliver astounding Box Office hits, and Video games. Plus any one you talk to will KNOW WHO SUPERMAN OR BATMAN IS! please do this as a favor for me go to your parents and ask your parents ” Mom, Dad do you know who is… Goku, Sailor Moon, etc., etc., etc.”) God I don’t know myself many Manga characters… but you know what I mean use one of you fav. characters in your manga ant tell your parents and trust when I say this 80% will say no… I am just being realistic because some parents actually read what kids these days read as well. So there you have it COMICS are Superior than Manga and if you don’t agree just do me a favor and look at the numbers… and continue to do so for the next 10 years. I apologize for the long post and appreciate you reading Good Day :D

Ressentiment

A story set in the near future, about a middle-aged loser whose only refuge is a virtual bishoujo game. In 2015, AI development has reached the point where dating sims and the like are almost real. Takuro is a fat, balding loser who is feeling panicked by the onset of his 30s and lack of a woman. At his friend’s insistence, Takuro decides to give up on real women forever and take the VR plunge. What follows is not as planned, however, and leads Takuro questioning if VR is really the best thing

Question by freespirit12212000: Does anyone here have any anime recommendations?
I like spirituality, action, philosophy, comedy, and even a little bit of romance in my anime. Some ecchi/nudity is fine, but NO hentai (porn) or incest anime ! The series must be available as a boxed set on DVD (Region 1 [ US/Canada release])

Here’s just some of the anime that I own to give you an idea of what I like:

Witch Hunter Robin

Neon Genesis Evangelion (including the movies)

Serial Experiments:lain

Cowboy Bebop (and its movie)

Noir

Gunslinger Girl (both series)

Earth Maiden Arjuna

Azumanga Daioh!

Tenchi Muyo! (OVA’s 1-3)

Hell Girl (season 1)

Samurai Champloo

Blood+ (and the movie)

Moribito

Eureka Seven

Kamichu!

Witchblade

and several Miyazaki movies (Kiki’s Delivery Service, Whisper of the Heart, Princess Mononoke…and I’ve seen Ponyo, too)

Please no: Naruto (it’s a decent series, but it’s too long to buy), Bleach (too long), Bobobo (I don’t like that show), One Piece (ditto). Nothing over 50 episodes.

I’m looking to buy a series at Best Buy today, so thanks in advance for all suggestions! Oh, and please, NO haters!
I’m already familiar with InuYasha. Sorry.
And, I own Fullmetal Alchemist (including the movie)
And My-Hime,too. I’m going to buy My-Otome when it comes out next month.
Oh! I forgot to mention that I like psychology in my anime, too. Please don’t recommend Code Geass either.
Yeah, I was going to buy Sola today, but nearest Best Buy won’t be carrying it. I already own the whole Ghost In The Shell series (including the original movie, the 2nd movie, and the Solid State Society movie).

But, thanks for listing some anime that I haven’t seen. :)
I need something more recent; Best Buy sadly doesn’t carry NieA_7 OR Haibane Renmei!

Wolf’s Rain is another set that I own, BTW. :)

Best anime to buy for a guy???:)?

Question by Amiratora: Best anime to buy for a guy???:)?
Okay, so my boyfriend is a HUGE anime fan, he has the entire series of Dragonball Z, Trigun, Fruits Baskets, Slayers, Wolf’s Rain, Cowboy Bebop, etc. I’m trying the figure out what to get him for his birthday and christmas, and I can’t think of ANYTHING he doesn’t have, so what anime would a guy really like (one that isn’t hentai though X-P)??? I desperately need advice on this! Shows I know he doesn’t care for are Sailor Moon and Peach Girl, but unless an anime is solidly just for girls, don’t exclude mentioning it! Thanks! :D
